Was in St. Louis this past weekend and saw one pitcher get hit with a line drive in the face, she wasn't wearing a mask. She ended up going to the hospital by ambulance. I spoke to a parent from a local team ( Wasco ) that told me that they had two of their pitchers take line drives to the face this weekend but both were wearing masks. Stated that both girls had a small bump and face was sore but nothing broken. The girl hit friday may even pitch today he said ( that being Sunday ). Spoke to another parent from a team up in this area who stated that their coach is pushing for their pitchers not to wear masks ( with his daughter being a pitcher ). Why do some coaches perfer their pitchers, 3rd and 1st basemen not to wear a mask. If a girl is comfortable what harm is it to the coach. I have a daughter who is a freshman in college this year that plays a cornor. She told me that she and two other freshman came in this year and are still wearing mask. The coach told her that as long as she is confortable with wearing the mask she isn't asking for her not to wear one.

As a coach is a girl is comfortable with a mask that's fine. If she doesn't wear a mask I strongly suggest wearing a mouthpiece. I would never tell a girl not to wear a mask.

Hey mayidorwest if your daughter is a freshman in college who plays the cornor (corner) why were you in St. Louis? You just like the drive or are you making something up?

No, not making anything up. Was there watching younger daughter play. With 8 years of travel ball under my belt as a parent got to know a lot of parents. Still talk to a lot of them when I see them at exposures or tournaments. Thanks for the correction.
