Like with all sports offense puts fans in the stands. But I might differ from the norm here, I truly enjoy defense. When you fully shut down your opponent there is nothing better in my opinion. In softball we have changed rules, moving the mound back, more pop in bats, etc to make it a more offense oriented game. But I ask which do you prefer a game that is 10-8 or a 2-1 game?

Disclaimer - Pitchers Dad
I choose none of the above. I prefer a nice 5-0 shutout. If I had to choose between your two there is no doubt to me that a 2-1 game is much more enjoyable to watch. This is because players and parents are on edge as one mistake can make the difference. Whether it is the pitcher with a walk or meatball or the defense with a bobble a game changer can be one pitch away. Especially as the game gets to the middle or late innings everyone gets more tense and nervous. Put a few on and get out of the inning with no runs is a great feeling.

But a 10-8 game provides drama and tense moments. I just enjoy good pitching and defense over home runs.
