Ok here goes a decent thread for discussion: Should the IHSA add International Tie Breaker to High School Softball? I go back and forth on liking international or not. Someone told me they enjoy high school softball more than travel because it is a purer game. No time limits and no international. I like that view point and outlook on high school softball.

I dont know about High School being a purer version but I feel that ITB would force Head Coaches to be proactive in managing game. I feel that many coaches sit back and let things happen rather than create action.

Why wait until late in the game to "create action"...? As soon as the game starts a coach SHOULD be looking to gain every advantage toward winning. International tie-breaking is a time saving mechanism. Nothing more.

We both have watched a lot of High School Softball. Very Few coaches " create "action. I simply would prefer to institute ITB after 9th inning etc. We still have to battle daylight limits. This is simply a starter topic to drive any type of discussion.
