I grew up playing travel baseball, football and wrestling. -I was a solid baseball player, I had a good glove and understood the importance of defense. -I was a below average football player, but I really enjoyed the game.. I was often compared to Rudy during my days at Rock Island High School. I think I just enjoyed being part of the team. We had a great team my senior year, we lost to a tough Mt. Carmel team in the Semi's, it was a game we probably could have won... but the guys on the field didnt take care of the football.. I was given player of the game once, I think it was a joke though. - I enjoyed wrestling, but I was never really good at actually putting it all together on the mat. I still contest, that I would pound Lt. Dan.
What did I learn from Didi? -I learned a lot from the big guy. I started my business because of many of the things he taught me. I was always in awe of the big guy's ability to get a deal done, business wise he was someone I've really looked up too. But, the one thing I really took from Didi was his ability to make everyone feel better when they were around him... It took a special person to do that...
Travel Softball... It's nuts. Anyone that lets LT Dan coach their kid is out of their mind! All joking aside. Travel softball is good, but there are way too many sanctioning bodies for softball. ASA, USSSA, NSA, PGF, ABC and whatever sanctioning bodies are out there. Is there really a need for all of this? It's money down the drain for teams paying for all of this sanctioning. It would be great to see some consolidation, or just an emergence of non-sanctioned tournaments. Something has to change, because travel softball is just a huge money grab. I can't believe tournaments get away with not offering a refund if it rains... That's sickening!
Big Bash Sports... We have a unique opportunity with BBS. I believe BBS has the personnel and experience to provide quality and affordable youth sports tournaments. I'm really looking forward to growing BBS.
Is it true, you are famous in the Moline area and a local Ace Rothstein at Jumers Casino? - Nice Casino reference... I guess that's the rumor about me, i do enjoy a good poker game.
Chicagoland... Hmmmm, I don't know about that. I've got a good job out here in the Quad Cities...
Richie C- Finally got to meet the guy last week. From what I've heard he is a great softball coach and an even better person. He needs to make a trip to Rockford and Danville..
Feds- Another person I just met last week. Seemed like a good guy with a lot of softball knowledge.
Lt. Dan- This guy is something else... We've had some good times together. Even though 90% of the stuff the guy says makes no sense or is gibberish, I will always consider him a friend. If you're looking for someone to back out on something last minute, then Lt Dan is your guy!
Roy Pena- One of the best! Roy has promised to take me to San Diego when his team goes there for Nationals.. So.. with that being considered.. Roy is probably the best Rocker coach in the program.
Bu- Great wrestling coach! I could sit and listen to Bu tell stories for hours. Bu has done a lot of generous things for my family and it's been greatly appreciated.
