Entering the week, Lemont's Carly Jaworski was hitting .418 with two homers, 20 runs and 23 RBI. On the mound she's 5-4, with a 1.87 ERA and 70 strikeouts.
Goals for the rest of the season?
Basically, making it further in the playoffs than we did last year (regional finals), and making it to state is the big goal. As a senior, that’s what you always want to do ending your high school career.
Rather pitch or bat?
All of it. I like doing what I do.
Lemont is in the state championship. Who do you want to face?
Oak Forest, definitely. That’s a good rival, and there’s some tension in between the two teams, too. Maybe Lincoln-Way West, too. They’re a really good team.
What’s your best softball moment?
My sophomore year we were playing at the Stone City Jamboree, and I had three home runs. I went back to back to back.
Who’s your celebrity prom date?
Not Channing Tatum, because a lot of people say him. Luke Bryan, because I’m more of a country girl.
You’re on a deserted island and can never run out of one food. What do you pick?
I love Italian food. My favorite restaurant is Tazza’s, or Carrabba’s.
You can travel anywhere in the world. Where do you pick?
Paris. I’ve never been out of the country. My dad is more of the “explore your own country first” mentality, then explore other countries. That’s how we do it in our family.
Remember most about Lemont?
Over the years, I’ve grown up, succeeded and gotten better. I thank my coaches, family and friends for supporting me through the years. Softball has really worked out for me, including playing in the future.
