Response to a post about PGF and insurance.
Every team must have insurance. PGF offers insurance. Every other alphabet also offers insurance. PGF offers a wide range of events each week on the Midwest this fall. In my regional qualifiers this fall I even offer a discount to PGF insured teams, so you play in a couple events, and your insurance cost is covered.
PGF offers a national event and a Midwest Regional Event. If these are for your team, we welcome them with open arms. If not, I understand. Next spring and summer we will also have a wide array of choices for you. PGF is a choice, like anything else.
If you think the extra things PGF does like television for the nationals and the opening ceremonies for the Midwest don't cost $, you don't understand the economics.
On a local level I charge $0 as state director to host an event because I believe in the product and the choice. Host organizations pay a fee to PGF headquarters per team, based on number of teams in their event, that is posted on their website.
I am hosting a couple events this fall where the reg fee is $475 but only $400 for PGF registered and insured teams. Downers Grove 16-18 and St CHarles 12-14-16-18. 5 pool games and then single elim. Limited to 8 teams per age. I think that is pretty darn fair. 6-8 games at that cost!
Glad to see folks like Brian with the Blue Wave, Jeff Stork, Big Bash Productions, Brian and the Downers Grove Rebels, Pat and Gary with Illinois Outlaws, Pete and his Roselle Rampage, Mike and the Dirt Devils joining our other hosts such as the Rockers, A's, St Charles Comets/Cals Angels, Bandits, Sparks, Northern Ice, East Peoria Express, and others. Not to forget the state directors in Iowa, Indiana, and Ohio putting on quality events!
It's all a choice, that's all.
